Areas of Work | ✺Sustainable food We promote eating less meat and limiting food waste to the benefit of animals, nature, health and mitigation of climate change. ✱Ethical fashion We work to reduce the environmental and ethical footprint of the fashion industry. ✦Ethical finance We scrutinize how banks, companies, and investment funds perform on sustainability and ethics, and how lending policies and investments impact both people and the environment. ❉Green lifestyle We inspire consumers to make ethical and sustainable consumption choices in their everyday lives. ✺A toxic free life We are working for stronger regulations and faster phasing out of environmental toxins in consumer products. |
Success stories | Future in our hand was one of the initiators of The Transparency Act (åpenhetsloven), adopted in 2022 by the Norwegian Parliament. The law promotes businesses' respect for basic human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of goods and the provision of services. Future in our hands are part of the working group that works with the producer responsibility scheme for textiles, set up by the Ministry of Climate and the Environment Future in our hands are part of the committee which is investigating measures to halve food faste, including a food waste law |
Collaboration opportunities | Future in our hands partners with a wide range of collaborators including public bodies, government agencies, local authorities and corporations. We have several projects with schools, youth groups, companies and local community groups. We are mainly working towards target groups here in Norway, since we support thinking globally - act locally. However, we are also working closely with our international partners to co-create innovative and necessary sustainable projects, so if you are curious about any of our projects and the possibility of doing the same in your country or maybe start a collaboration project with us, contact us for a talk! |
Project Highlights | - Food Win (Matvinn): From food waste to food win! Here we help municipalities to reduce their food waste in different organisations; from kindergarten to nursing homes. - The circular team (Sirkellaget) is a project where we have the municipality, the county council, the regional renovation company, among others, as partners. A good example of how we as an NGO collaborate with counties/municipalities/business to mobilise citizens and test circular business model in our local community - Circularity is a project where we test out Circular economy in practice and find more circular solutions in collaboration with high school students (Sirkulær) |
