ChangeABLE: Inclusive Climate Action

On 25 and 26 February 2026, six partners of the ChangeABLE project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, gathered in Dublin for their first in-person transnational meeting.
It was a key milestone for a project that has a clear and ambitious goal: to ensure that people with disabilities are not just witnesses of the climate crisis, but active advocates for change.

ChangeABLE — Out and About for Climate Ability — brings together organisations from three countries, each pairing climate expertise with disability inclusion. In Ireland, Global Action Plan Ireland (GAP Ireland) and Prosper Social Care Services CLG work side by side.

In Italy, InEuropa SRL collaborates with COOPATTIVA Cooperativa Sociale Onlus. In Germany, agado partners with Die Reha E.V. This model of collaboration between one GAP International member and one disability-focused organisation in each country, is at the heart of the project’s approach.

Over two days, the team worked together to build the trust and shared energy needed to drive such a complex initiative. Some of the collaborative work completed at the gathering included finalising a needs assessment questionnaire that will be distributed to over 600 people with disabilities across the three countries, laying the foundation for training materials that are truly relevant and accessible.

Over the next three years, ChangeABLE will travel from Dublin to Berlin (2027) and Modena (2028), building a community where everyone’s voice counts in shaping a fair and sustainable future.
