The Just Action project, which will end in November 2024, has led to the exciting new Erasmus+ project Just Maps – schools strengthening global citizenship by mapping local communities, which was selected for funding by the Spanish agency SEPIE.
The partnership is formed by Just Action’s GAP partners from Spain (GAP Spain will be the lead partner), Italy and Ireland, whose experience will be strengthened and extended by the addition of GAP members from Poland and Kenya. The project will have four school partners from Italy, Spain and Kenya. Three schools are also taking part as associated partners.
During the implementation of Just Action, it became evident that the students’ favourite learning activities were those that led them to act in their local communities. Becoming more active beyond school and becoming part of the local society was the area that most inspired the participating schools. And that’s how Just Maps was born: it is a new learning journey putting the heads, hands and hearts of children and young people aged 8 to 15 at the service of local communities in a Global Citizenship perspective.
